Mash Mechanix Brewing Company Hosts Car Show to Benefit PPSC Automotive Scholarships
Colorado Springs, CO — Wednesday, August 12, 2026 — Classic cars, community spirit and student success will come together on Saturday, Aug. 15, as Mash Mechanix Brewing Company hosts a car show benefiting scholarships for students in Pikes Peak State College's (PPSC) automotive programs. The free community event will feature vehicles competing in a variety of automotive categories, with attendees voting for their favorites. Car owners entering the competition will pay an entry fee and all proceeds will be donated to the Pikes Peak State College Foundation to support scholarships for automotive students.
"Scholarships remove barriers that allow students to focus on learning the skills employers need," said Donna Nelson, Chief Advancement Officer for the Pikes Peak State College Foundation. "We're grateful to Mash Mechanix Brewing Company for investing in our students and helping prepare the next generation of automotive professionals who will keep our community moving."
PPSC's Automotive Technology program prepares students for careers in vehicle repair, diagnostics, service and parts management through hands-on training led by experienced industry professionals. Students can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree or specialized certificates in areas including brakes, engine performance, electrical and electronic systems, suspension and steering, manual drivetrains, air conditioning and heating and gasoline engine repair. The program equips graduates with the technical skills needed for careers throughout Colorado's automotive industry.
The event highlights the important role local businesses play in supporting workforce education and development. Scholarships funded through community partnerships help students overcome financial barriers while preparing for high-demand skilled trades careers that strengthen the regional economy.
During the event, representatives from the PPSC Foundation will accept the scholarship donation on behalf of the college. Guests are encouraged to attend, view the vehicles, cast their votes and celebrate the partnership between Mash Mechanix Brewing Company and PPSC.
