Pikes Peak State College Welcomes Students Back with New Accessible Campus Navigation
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Aug. 17, 2026 — As students return to Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) for the first day of fall classes, they have a new tool to help them find their way. PPSC has launched GoodMaps, an accessible indoor navigation platform, at all four of its campuses: Centennial, Downtown, Rampart Range and the Center for Healthcare Education and Simulation (CHES).
For students entering an unfamiliar building, finding the right classroom can be one more challenge on an already busy first day. GoodMaps provides turn-by-turn directions that help students, employees and visitors navigate campus with greater confidence and independence.
The free GoodMaps app uses camera-based technology to identify a person’s location and provide precise directions through complex indoor spaces. Users can receive audio and visual guidance, select step-free routes and navigate the platform in more than 25 languages.
Accessibility That Benefits Everyone
GoodMaps was designed with accessibility at its foundation. Its audio-guided directions support people who are blind or have low vision, while visual guidance and step-free routing provide more options for people with different access needs.
That same technology can help any student trying to locate a classroom, lab, advising office or student service. It can be especially valuable for first-generation students, adult learners returning to school, military-affiliated students, English-language learners and visitors who may be unfamiliar with PPSC’s campuses.
Students can use GoodMaps to find destinations such as classrooms, elevators, accessible entrances and campus resources. The platform does not require beacons or other permanent navigation equipment inside college buildings.
Plan Before Arriving or Navigate on Campus
GoodMaps includes a browser-based map that allows students and visitors to explore participating PPSC campuses and plan routes before arriving. Once on campus, users can open the free GoodMaps app on an iOS or Android device for real-time, turn-by-turn navigation.
Students, employees and visitors are encouraged to download the GoodMaps app and become
familiar with the platform as the fall semester begins.
